The Real “Mr. Bill”

lst20

I started my quest to become a conqueror the Internet late in 1996. The only thing I had going for myself was an insatiable desire for marketing and sales. Plus, I had real world “Brick and Mortar” sales and marketing experience of over 30 years.

I know what you’re thinking if you know how old I am. That’s B.S.!

That would mean I was marketing when I was 16 years old.

Well, actually, I was 16 years old when I ran my first Don Lapre style advertisement in the LA Free Press: “Plans for a Strobe Light $15, make it easy and cheap!” $15 Checks then started showing up in my mailbox????

The L.A. Teenage Fair at the Hollywood Palladium that  summer was what got me started on Niche Marketing and I didn’t even know what I was doing.

After seeing the “Doors” perform in a smoke filled tent, with the first strobe light I had ever seen, I was mystified. This  was absolutely too cool, watching Jim Morrison swing around a pole in a smoke filled tent, with a strobe light, while playing the longest song (over 15 minutes) I had ever heard, “Light My Fire”.  Yea, this was the epitome of the Teen Age Fair and the Summer of 1968.

For those that want to venture back, and take a listen….

Here’s as close as I could get to that night at Teen Age Fair and capture a rendition of what the “Jim Morrison Show” was all about,  lacking the tent, smoke, and him swinging on the pole,  it’s still pretty cool. You can still listen. This is the “Light My Fire Live”, 1968, or the best I can remember. Turn up your speakers or start your MP3 and click below. Unfortunately there’s no YouTube video.

Wow, I hope your enjoyed that step back in history.  But Now…

Getting back to marketing and my strobe light, my only regret was  I didn’t have Don Lapre’s classified ads program back then. Unfortunately, he was only 2 years old  and hadn’t quite perfected his system.

Also, I didn’t know about the Thousands of other Newspapers I could run ads in to become a millionaire. I also hadn’t figured out that the Niche Market I was tapping into was probably every teenager in the U.S. Wow, I blew that!

Oh well, I was only 16 years old.

Lesson #1 You can step in front of a high demand market and make money.

Lesson #2 You really can make money through advertising just by positioning yourself in front of a market that is already buying now.

This is really simple,  but crazy at the same time.

Even today with all of my marketing and sales experience, making money on the Internet is  a passion I still pursue.  Driving me is the potential market of the Internet and building a family of passionate affiliate marketing friends. Can we all learn together from this experience? I think so.

Guess what? Remember, I really did have the right idea, even back then, as a teenager.

Keep in mind, it wasn’t until 1985 AOL started announcing, “You’ve got Mail!”.  Back then, everybody thought that was the coolest thing!

Then flash forward to today. Wow,  Internet Marketing is churning out millionaires left and right. We have Facebook with 700 million people and expected to go over the Billion mark.

Do you have the desire? Do you have the drive? Do you have what it takes to accomplish your goals?

It takes this and an absolute commitment to the the above, before you should even consider pursuing accomplishing your dreams with internet marketing.  This is only because, you should stop wasting your time right now, if you’re not ready to devote 100% and then some to accomplish your goals.

Yes, I too,  am still learning. This site, and this adventure, is an insight into “a work in progress”. I hope we all learn something new from each other.

Always remember, if you keep an open mind, a willingness to learn,  follow your heart, set out to accomplish your dreams, success will follow.

All the Best for Success,

Mr. Bill
